The SVTOA / Camp Steeda Event was heralded by
all who were there as a smashing success. In fact, over the
three day event only one dark moment served to blemish the
record.
At the Awards Banquet Saturday Night, thanks
were given to Ford and to the SVT, for the awesome vehicles
they produce, and to the Sponsors who make aftermarket parts
for drivers who want to personalize style or performance or
both. The drivers of both show cars and those that saw track
time were thanked of course - without them, the event wouldn't
mean much, and if it weren't for the efforts of the SVTOA
volunteers, it wouldn't have happened at all. Even the hosting
track, Sebring, and the Chateau Elan Hotel & Spa earned
their props.
Subsequently, in the midst of the raffle, a
moment of silence was sought by a representative of the Pylon
Protection Society, in Memoriam of the Little,
Orange Cone that didn't make it to see the Sunday dawn. While
none of the cones accepted any remuneration for their efforts,
they were all justifiably proud of the sacrifice made by their
fallen comrade.

Jeff Lacina (l) and Ed Zerbe of the SVTOA
flank the Pylon Protection Society representative
as he leads the Ford faithful in a moment of silence. It was
a touching moment, one to be long remembered by all who were
there.
